[Note: oops -- I forgot to post an "It's Wednesday" last week. I've posted a backdated entry here.]
Before the weekend, I was getting ready for the weekend: finishing off blog entries, making my apartment look vaguely-presentable to company, and picking up a pair of dance shoes. I was also recovering from the überbug; my health got back to normal by Thursday, but I skipped the dances that night (I didn't want to push my luck and get sick again) and went to see an improv show instead.
After that, the Blues Party.
All in all, it went well. Good things: seeing my friends in the Texas dance scene, meeting a few out-of-state types, great music. Bad things: barely talking to those out-of-state types (I am shy), one really awful dance on Sunday night, weak air conditioning at the teaching venue. And while I had some amazing dances over the weekend, a lot of the time I was just tired, out of practice, and dissatisfied with my dancing. *shrug* I did the best I could.
Since then I've been catching up on sleep, laundry, and correspondence. Also, yesterday I went to the improv jam for the first time in months; it went well.
This coming week looks... a bit dire. I get foot surgery this afternoon, so I'm guessing I'll be zonked out on painkillers for a few days, off of my feet for a week, and off of the dance floor for two weeks. For the time being, I guess I'll just putter quietly at home.
ETA: Surprise! The doctor's office had no record that I had *any* appointment with them, let alone an appointment for this afternoon. I'm rescheduled for Friday, when their Grand Parade of Incompetence will no doubt continue....
