Wednesday (11/12/08) 9:40am - ... wherein the coat arrives.

Okay, the new coat (which I've been gleefully hyping on twitter) arrived a couple of days ago.  No pictures yet, but it is this style of coat.

Things I like about the coat:

Things I don't like about the coat: So:  a minor letdown, although after the ludicrous hype, anything would have been.  We'll see how I feel about the coat after a week or two.

The bit about the shoulder/arm pit area - I think that's really common in coats, actually. But, you can see if your tailor can help you.

Yup, I was going to say this. I'm not sure I've ever had a coat where this didn't happen.

Sure, it's always a bit of a problem -- I guess I'm just saying it's much more pronounced with this coat....

The armpit/shoulder weirdness might be an indication that the coat doesn't fit properly. I know that's a common problem with suit coats that are slightly off. You don't really notice until you raise your arm and then the whole shoulder lifts off your body. The tailor might be able to fix it, or at least tell you not to worry about it.
