I suppose I wasn't in the right mood for ALX. I had just gotten back from Ohio, and I wanted nothing more than to resume my quiet little life of reading and writing and playing guitar. So from Monday to Wednesday, that's what I did. Then on Thursday, ALX came along and I was dancin' all the time instead.
That was fine and pleasant. It was great to see everybody in the Texas dance scene, and I screwed up the courage to dance with a few strangers here and there. But if I had it to do over again, I wouldn't have stayed out 'til 5am every night; I would have skipped the Master Pancake show; and I would have spent more time quietly puttering around the house.
Live and learn, or something.
Anyway, I spent last night playing catch-up on laundry, dishes, housecleaning, and that sort of thing. I am at this point thoroughly ready to resume my usual lifestyle of housebound artsy puttering.
Oh, but wait -- it's Thanksgiving. Well, alright then. Off to Louisville for four days. I'll cart along the books I have to read (for a movie project) and the current mound of writing, in the quixotic hope that I can get anything done while I'm there. I suspect I'll be roped into housepainting instead. Hrm.
