This week, life has been a simple exercise in psychological reinforcement.
When I've stayed home, I've managed to write stuff (vide exhibits a, b, c) and generally I've felt productive and happy. When I've gone out to do stuff, I've usually wound up experiencing some mélange of 'awful' and 'boring'. The Fed's Winter Formal was pretty lousy, and Maestro managed to hit "show me on the doll" levels of bad. Apart from that, it was mostly errands. *yawn*
So maybe I'll be more of a homebody this week.
It looks like a promising week for staying in. I have a new comptuer, a new HDTV, and a new PS3 coming my way. I have a bunch of intriguing writing projects to attend to. And there doesn't look to be much going on out in the world. So I'll relax and putter for a week, and then do holiday stuff, and then when all the TV shows premiere in January, I'll go and live at the Alamo.
If you shrank the earth to the size of a billiard ball, the earth would be smoother than the ball.
