Thursday (3/12/09) 1:25pm - ... wherein the Spanish humans are dead as well.

Welcome to this week's installment of "Spanish for Everyday Situations".

This week's situation:  "Oh no!  It's a robot uprising!"

It vacuums fine, but it keeps spelling out the word "DIE".

What do you mean, "best-two-out-of-three-laws safe?"

¿Qué quieres decir con «mejor-dos-fuera-de-tres-leyes de seguridad?»

Are we sure this is an "uprising", or is there a Dr. Wily-like figure behind this?

I say, if some guy's stupid enough to *build* a giant mechanical spider with chainsaws for legs, he's just getting what's coming to him.

At this point, I'd say the Uncanny Valley includes any robot trying to kill me.[1]

The ones that look like Wall•E are the ones designed to kill small children.

Do you ever feel like modern life is just an elaborate prank orchestrated by Philip K. Dick?

It turns out they just really, really hate those Transformers movies -- but not the animated one, of course.  They're cool with that one.

Note:  As always, these 'translations' are basically just Google Translator output, so corrections are welcome.

[1] h/t to happywaffle for this entry and (come to think of it) the topic as well.

I think what you want is, "Yo, por mi parte, acojo a nuestro robot jefes."

acojo = I welcome. bienvenida = welcome (the noun)
