My health continues to improve (yay!).
Earlier this week, I got my blood-test results back from the NI clinic; they determined that I had a bacterial infection and not a viral one, which is good because (1) bacterial bronchitis is not particularly contagious, and (2) we can kill a bacterial infection with antibiotics.
With the assistance of my good friend codeine, I got through most of yesterday evening without coughing at all. I got through Dancy Street rehearsal without too much trouble, although my falsetto has yet to come back. I only woke up a few times last night, and only coughed a few times.
On the other hand, this morning I spent about fifteen minutes coughing up goo -- but I think this is just because of the sinus infection I've picked up in the last couple of days. I'm not too worried about it. Sinusitis isn't contagious, and between the azithromycin and the regular neti-pot use, its days are numbered.
Basically, the only real problem this mild sinus infection is causing is that I cough up goo in the mornings. *shrug* I can live with that.
For the time being, I'll finish out my prescribed course of antibiotics; I'll take the last of the prednisone today; and I'll keep using the codeine to keep any daytime coughing under control. I have a follow-up at the NI clinic tomorrow morning, where they'll verify that I'm recovering.
Generally, though, it looks like I'm on-track for resuming everyday life, for the first time in over a month.
